“Home in the Swamp” centers on Toledo, the Great Black Swamp, and the region’s settlement history. The changing nature of the swamp means that it has no borders and cannot be grasped. As such, it is a fertile ground to explore topics of uncertainty, fear, settlement, migration, and shifting identities as we revive the swamp as a means to understand our modern experience.
